This is my tenth year of teaching in a multigrade school environment, and I can honestly say that I love this method of teaching and learning. It brings me joy to watch students of varying ages and abilities working together and helping each other throughout each day. And no day is ever the same! Teaching a variety of subjects, levels, and social/emotional skills is a wonderful challenge.
In my first year here at Grayling Seventh-day Adventist School, I have been grateful to work with a fantastic teacher's assistant and a group of children who genuinely care about each other. We have big goals for the school year. Best of all, we are interested in learning about a God who believes we are infinitely precious to Him--worth dying for, yes--and who is coming to Earth very soon to be with us forever! I love teaching at a school where we learn the truth about God, ourselves, and the world around us.
I am looking forward to getting to know the Grayling community better, and seeing how this school can serve its people and needs.
Besides teaching, I also love being outdoors, making music with my husband of 10 years, and trying to cook. A perfect day would include experiences outdoors with family and friends of all ages (preferably near or on one of the Great Lakes), hammocking with a good book in hand, and making music around a campfire.
